OUR MISSION: To provide accessible recreational programming and facilities for all members of our community.
Our Story
In October 1981, the Galiano Activity Centre Society constitution was signed, in part, “..to promote educational, cultural, recreational, social, and other community oriented activities” and to “promote the construction and equipping of facilities suitable” for said activities. With thousands of community volunteer hours, and in partnership with School District 64, a kitchen, gymnasium and meeting room were built at the Galiano Community School. For the past 3 decades, GACS has continued to fulfill its mandate, adding the Fitness Centre in 2001, Playgroup in 2016 and the Galiano Community Daycare in 2017.

What We Do
Fitness Centre
Galiano Community Daycare: serving pre-school children and families three days per week in a fun and creative learning space.
Galiano Playgroup: volunteer-run organization helping families with pre-schoolers access programming and a drop-in playspace.
Spring Break and Summer Programs for school-aged children
Maintain the public tennis court
After School Activities (soccer, baseball, badminton pickle ball, floor hockey)
Adult Recreation (tae kwon do, soccer, belly-dancing, yoga, floor hockey, volleyball)
Educational Activities (knitting, photography, sewing, computer/tech)

Facility and Equipment Rentals
